Five teams competed in the Closing Mixed Bonspiel this past weekend at the curling rink. The Ferguson team, consisting of Dan and Kim Ferguson along with Rob Vandale and Karyn Morash won the A Event final, defeating the Milner team made up of Linda and Mike Milner, Melody Kingwell and Jim Shultz.
The B event was a tight match with the Broderick team outlasting the McQueen team. Pamela Broderick skipped with Bernie Lehmann throwing third stones while Glenn Miller and Vicky Harding rounded out their team. The Milner team then battled back with an exceptional game and defeated the McQueen team by one point in a close match for the C Event final. Hats off to the McEwen team for rounding out the bonspiel. On Sunday March 9 the juniors and their families, coached by Jenna McQueen, had a fun spiel with six teams. The year-end finale for the curling club is the Annual General meeting held on Friday, April 5. A potluck supper followed by prizes for league champions and the election of officers will take place at 6:30 pm. If you have an interest in curling next year, please accept this as an invitation to join us for a night of socializing! New ideas and input are welcomed!
