New local health administrator to support high-quality services for the South Peace region

Northern Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Davis as Health Services Administrator for the South Peace region. An experienced health care leader, Ms. Davis will serve the communities of Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, and Pouce Coupe.

“We’re very excited about Karen’s decision to join Northern Health,” said Larry Tokarchuk, Chief Operating Officer: Northeast Health Services. “She will bring expertise and leadership as we work to provide high-quality health services that are responsive to community needs.”

Ms. Davis will be responsible for building connections between all programs Northern Health operates in the region. She will also contribute to the on-going development and integration of services across the Northeast. She will serve as a key liaison between local government leaders and Northern Health for the communities in which she oversees health services.

Ms. Davis is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administration.

Prior to joining Northern Health, Ms. Davis was the Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian Association of Canadian Living. She has also previously worked in director and management capacities at Delta Hospital and Delta Community Services (Fraser Health Authority); Sunny Hill Health Center for Children (Children and Women’s Health Center of British Columbia); Saint Elizabeth Healthcare (homecare) in Ontario; and the Community Care Access Center in Ontario.

Ms. Davis will begin her new role as Health Services Administrator on September 20, 2004.
