NLC student recognized for ?medal-winning? artwork

DAWSON CREEK ? Tamara Knodel has been recognized for her artistic contribution to the Northern B.C. Winter Games held in Dawson Creek in February.

Knodel, a student in the Visual and Graphic Communication Arts program at Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek, designed the artwork that adorned the back of the gold, silver and bronze medals.

The design featured the Alaska Highway leading towards the Mile Zero Post, which is located in downtown Dawson Creek. Dawson Creek is known as the Mile Zero City, due to its location at the start of the Alaska Highway.

On March 10, Knodel was presented with a mounted and framed set of medals by Charlie Parslow, the president of the Dawson Creek 2008 NBCWG Society.
