Northern Health welcomes extra funding for orthopaedic surgery and diagnostic procedures

Northern Health is pleased with the Government of British Columbia’s decision to allocate nearly $21 million province-wide to conduct more surgical and diagnostic procedures.

While Northern Health is awaiting specifics on this region’s funding allocation, a number of additional knee and hip surgical procedures will be performed along with additional CT and MRI scans.

“This is clearly good news that will benefit patients across our entire region,” said Dr. David Butcher, Vice-President of Medicine. “We will be working with our medical staff and administration to determine the best way to use this funding to reduce wait-lists.”
