Northern Lights College involved in Labour Market Project

With the many transitions in the community this past six years, Northern Lights College (Tumbler Ridge Campus) partnered in the Community Visioning and Labour Market Planning Project (funded by the Government of Canada) with TRENDS, Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, Tumbler Ridge Arts Council and Economic Development Department (District of Tumbler Ridge) to get a sense of the community?s interest in post secondary education programs/courses. One of the main goals of the College is to bridge the skills gaps with the workforce requirements in the community.

From the public focus group sessions, resident survey and business survey the College will be able to explore community requirements in post secondary education. This information will assist us in program planning and future educational considerations for the residents of Tumbler Ridge. For those who were unable to participate in the survey or group sessions, but would like to provide input in program ideas, the College is interested in hearing from you.

The final draft of the Community Visioning and Labour Market Planning is available on the website. We all have a vested interest in the community and want to ensure that Tumbler Ridge?s future reflects the community?s vision.
