One of the Tumbler Ridge Health Centre traditions: May 8-12 was Nursing Week and each year the physicians celebrate this by take the nurses out to dinner, following a pitch and putt golfing contest.
This year Ruth Walkley emerged victorious and was awarded the coveted Marmot Skull Trophy, just edging out the 2005 winner Karen Strang.
Being the largest isolated Diagnostic and Treatment Centre in the province creates special challenges. Barb Schuerkamp and her team have met these with very special qualities of skill, dedication and compassion, which is much appreciated.
