Clifford Gordon Clutton
1932 ~ 2006
Clifford passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2006 at the age of 74 years at the Pouce Coupe Care Home.Clifford was born in Edmonton, Alberta on Jan 30th, 1932, the only child of Charles and Nettie Clutton of Leduc, Alberta.
He grew up in Clearwater, Alberta where he met his wife of 54 years. He married Phyllis in 1952 in Edmonton where they spent several years, their first daughter Judy was born. He then spent several years in Drumheller moving houses. Joan was born in Drumheller. The young family then moved to Violet Grove where Cliff worked for Redwell Servicing. Then Cliff moved to Breton where Margaret and George were born.
After seven years, Cliff moved to Sunset House where his youngest son, Robert was born. After 25 years, and the family was grown, Cliff and Phyllis moved to the Spirit River area where they ran a lake concession at Moonshine Provincial Park and then a general store at Blueberry Mountain for ten years.
They retired in Tumbler Ridge in 2001. Cliff worked in the oilfield for thirty years for Redwell, Texaco Canada and Dome Petroleum throughout Alberta.
Cliff enjoyed fishing, hunting, auction sales, and spending time with his family and dogs.
Cliff is survived by; his wife and best friend of 54 years, Phyllis. Forever remembered and cherished by his five children, Judy (Bill) Payne of Valleyview, Joan Dove of Edmonton, Margaret (Tim) Allen, Robert (Terry) of Spirit River, George (Val) of Fox Creek, twelve Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm in Valleyview Alliance Church in Valleyview, Alberta on June 24th, 2006.
All are welcome to join the family for Refreshments in the lower church hall following the service.
