P.A.L.S. program at Tumbler Ridge Elementary

Parents as Literacy Supporters (P.A.L.S.) Last year a group of teachers and parents started the P.A.L.S. Program at Tumbler Ridge Elementary School. These adults worked with 4 and 5 year olds on school readiness. The parents of the four and five year olds committed to joining their child at school for about an hour and a half one morning a month for the school year (10 sessions in all). During these sessions the adults and children worked together to learn about letters, reading, math, language, and play. They learned new ways to get ready for school and they had fun together. In the 2005-2006 school year we would like to continue the program. If you have a Kindergarten-aged child or a child who will be going into kindergarten in the fall of 2006, you are invited to join PALS. There is no cost to families other than the commitment of one morning each month for the school year. If you are interested, please give the school (T.R.E. 242-5281) a call and leave your name.
