Currently there are no bans or restrictions in the Prince George Fire Centre. If traveling this weekend the BC Forest Service asks the public to please be aware that open fire and campfire bans exist in the southern half of the province due to the hot and dry conditions.
The BC Forest Service asks the public to use caution with their campfires and to never leave them unattended. Forestry officials would like to thank the public for reporting any fires in the region and to continue reporting any new fires and flame that are detected by calling toll free 1-800-663-5555 or cellular *5555. For more information regarding bans and burning restrictions that are in place throughout the province, please visit the protection website at www.for.gov.bc.ca/protect.
