The Northern Lights College Foundation is now accepting proposals for the Paul Dampier Endowment Award.
This year there are two awards of $2,090 available and the deadline for proposals is Oct. 31.
The award was established in memory of Paul Dampier, in recognition of his contribution to the community as well as his role as executive director of the NLC Foundation.
Anyone (students, staff, community member) within the College region may submit a proposal for this award. A review committee of the NLC Foundation will assess the proposals.
Priority will be given to projects that reach smaller, more isolated communities of the region. While projects should have a focus on adult education, the award is intended to encourage a wide range of ideas. Suggested activities might include bringing in a guest speaker or facilitator for lectures or workshops that would appeal to the community as a whole.
Proposals should identify: the project?s objective; the activities planned; the intended outcome; and a project budget clearly defining expenditures
Applicants also should address the following questions:
1. Is the goal of the project attainable?
2. How is the project relevant to the stated goals and purposes of the award?
3. Does the project fit the criteria of the award?
4. Is there evidence of how the project will ensure community involvement?
Proposals should be submitted to Donna Kane, NLC Foundation, 11401-8th Street, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 4G2. For further information, contact Kane at (250) 784-7613 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
