The 5th annual Ridge Ramble Cross Country Run will take place at the Tumbler Ridge Golf Course on Saturday 14 October. This is part of the regional Wolves Running Series and draws athletes of all ages from the Peace Region of BC and Alberta. Many Tumbler Ridge athletes in the cross country running program have been traveling to these races each weekend and have been doing extremely well.
The Ridge Ramble gives Tumbler Ridge a chance to showcase the community and host these athletes at our superb golf course and on the fairways and ski trails. Race distances vary from 1.7 kms for Grade 1-3, to 6.5 kms for senior and masters participants.
The course is incredibly spectator-friendly especially for the kids races, as just about the whole route can be watched from the golf club balcony and the runners cheered on as they struggle up the final hill. The race is hosted by volunteers of the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society.
The races begin at 11 a.m. (athletes should register at least half an hour before their race start) and will be over by about 1 p.m. Start and finish is on the Driving range. This is a great opportunity for residents to come out and support the local and visiting athletes in an enjoyable day.
