Ridge Ramble Ski Race Attracts 33 Participants

On Sunday Feb, 4th the 10th Annual Ridge Ramble Cross Country Ski Race was held at the Tumbler Ridge golf course with an amazing 33 participants. The weather was great for both racers and volunteers, and the course was fast. This year the event became the ?Chocolate Lovers? ski race, and all participants won some form of chocolate as a prize. There were 24 kids in three different age categories, and many of them borrowed skis from Tumbler Ridge Elementary School in order to take part in this fun event. All had smiles on their faces as they crossed the finish line! There were also a few skiers who came from Dawson Creek and Taylor to participate.

Many thanks go to the volunteers of the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society who helped with registration, timing, handing out water, grooming the ski trails, and being marshals on the course. Thank you also to the golf course staff who opened the clubhouse up for the race, and also served lunch to all of the racers, volunteers, and supporters. With the large snowpack this winter, there is still lots of great cross country skiing to enjoy on the golf course ski trails.
