Researchers, consultants, government, First Nations, stakeholders and industry representatives will gather next week in Fort St. John for the Science and Community Environmental (SCEK) Fund Forum.
?It?s exciting to have people gather together to share knowledge,? says Andrea Morison, Manager of the SCEK Fund. ?There will be many practical ideas brought forward that will help both government and industry address environmental issues.?
The SCEK Fund, sponsored by the BC Oil and Gas Commission, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and the Small Explorers and Producers Association of Canada, supports studies to address environmental concerns related to oil and gas.
Fund projects explore ideas about hot environmental topics such as health and safety, engineering and technology, ecosystem and cumulative impact management, education and extension, and community environmental knowledge.
Posters, booths and presentations will showcase the results of the projects in a public evening on Thursday, June 10th at 7pm-8:30pm at the Quality Inn Northern Grand. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions of researchers and learn more about the work of the Fund.
