SNOW AND ICE CARVING COMPETITION
Presented by the Tumbler Ridge Public Library
And Winterfest 2005
Registration and Eligibility Criteria:
All applications must be received by 5pm, Tuesday, February 8th. Pick up and drop off of entry forms at the Tumbler Ride Public Library.
Teams can consist of any members of a family or household. One member will act as team captain. All sculptures must be located at the resident/home of one of the team members. Front yard only.
The Team must complete its work by 5 pm, Friday, February 11th. Judging will continue and awards will be presented at the WinterFest opening ceremonies, Feb. 11th, at 7pm.
The Final Sculpture:
All sculptures must be located at the resident/home of one of the team members. Front yard only.
The only materials allowed are snow and water. Colouring is allowed. No internal or exterman structural support will be allowed in the finished work.
The space used on the ground must always permit snow removal to pass around the sculpture. You are allowed to build to any height.
Hand tools only will be permitted in the competition. Example: small hatchet, shovels, chisels, buckets, etc. No power equipment (i.e. chainsaws, electric tools etc.) of any sort will be permitted.
Judges will take into account the following evaluation criteria:
Use of Snow20 points
Overall appeal20 points
Title and written description of work must be displayed next to each sculpture by Friday, February 11th at 5pm.
Winners will be announced at the Winter Fest Opening Ceremonies, Friday, February 11 at 7pm.
