The Hospital Foundation, led by a dedicated group of board members, has always worked tirelessly to improve the facilities that we enjoy at the Tumbler Ridge Clinic.

Many of the purchases made are for materials outside of the allocated budget for Tumbler Ridge, and would otherwise be unatainable for the residents use. The latest of these donations is a $5,000 cheque from Spectra Energy which will be used to purchase another electronic bed, bringing the total to two. The beds replace the old crank type and offer both patient and nurse true mobility. The patient does not have to rely on a nurse to raise or lower the bed (for example) which offers much more independence. Each bed costs around $5,000.

On the Hospital Foundation wish list is a crash cart for Emgency, which may be the next fundraising objective. The Hospital Foundation welcomes new members. For more information contact Gail Neumann at the Health Centre or Bev Fournier.

Thanks to the corporations and individuals who give so generously to the Foundation.
