Spring break at the library was spent working on an annual project. This is the fourth year that Sharon Bray, children?s librarian at the Tumbler Ridge Public Library, has conducted a paper mache workshop for the youth in town. This year the kids made Mardi Gras masks, while in previous years they have made bowls, pencil holders and plant heads. Bray hopes to have another workshop in September and is considering Halloween creations.
The workshop was open to kids of all ages and the youngest participant was four. The library hosts these activities for free to the public and the materials were mostly recyclables collected, such as paper and two litre pop bottles.
