Did I miss something? Oh yeah . . . the Canada Day fireworks. Pardon me for my ignorance, but I thought Canada Day was on July 1, not June 30. Call me a purist, but since when did we change our national holiday for the sake of convenience? I guess our new found sense of pride and patriotism since the Olympics was short lived. Ask any American if they would ever consider doing their fireworks display on July 3 and I’m sure you’d be excommunicated. We live in the best country in the world, and the least we could do, in my mind, is be respectful of that fact.
