Students Hit the Golf Course

Could one of these kids be the new up and coming Tiger Woods? Well, maybe not yet, but this students were sure having fun Thursday at the Tumbler Ridge Golf Course. The weather couldn?t have been better, the course was in great shape and these students were getting serious, or not, about golf. This was the first time trying golf for many of the kids, and as each student took a turn teeing off faces bore looks of deep concentration. Even the teacher, Mrs. Bell, had an opportunity to show her stuff as she hit a great shot right down the centre of the fairway.

In order for an outing like this to be successful, there has to be lots of help. The 28 students in this class were divided into groups, each led by a parent volunteer. ?It is the parent volunteers that make activities like this possible,? said Mrs. Bell, ?and this gives students a chance to participate in an activity they may not otherwise have the opportunity to try.?

Following the game of golf, students were treated to the excellent food in the restaurant. Thank you to Marco for waiving the green fees and providing use of clubs. Mrs. Kennedy?s class is going to be visiting the golf course on June 28th.
