Talent Show & Spring Play

The young people of Theatre On The Ridge (TOTR) are busy getting ready for their latest projects, taking place within a few weeks time. The small but dedicated group meets each Sunday evening at 6:00 pm at TRSS for an hour of workshops, laughter and friendship. Creative activities tend to bring out the best in people and drama especially instills a trust between the members of the group.

The first event is the ?On The Spot Talent Show 2?. Mirroring last year?s first talent show put on by TOTR, the show consists of a variety of acts performed by anyone and everyone in town who would like to get up and show their stuff! Except for one or two jobs requiring adult supervision, the show will be handled entirely by the young people of the drama club. The event will be held on Sunday, April 18th at 1:00 pm at the TRSS gymnasium. Pre-registration is required with forms available at the library and both school offices. There is no set admission, however it is a fundraiser and silver donation is gratefully accepted.

The second event is the club?s spring play, which will be their final production this season. The drama group breaks for the summer months and returns in the fall. The play, written exclusively for this drama club, is called ?Freezer Burn ? A Chilly Comedy?. The forty-five minute play will be performed at the beginning of BC Arts & Culture Week, Saturday April 24th at 1:00 pm in rooms 4 & 5 in the community center.

Theatre On The Ridge – Young People?s Drama currently has 10 actors, listed in alphabetical order; Kim Cameron, Natalie Cameron, Connor Hunter, Erin Jeffrey, Taylor Jeffrey, Kyla MacNeil, Laura Majoros, Alyssa Thomas, Amanda Thomas, and Karli Watt.

This is an open registration club that welcomes new members at any time. At present there are 2-3 drama leaders and if you would like to help out in any way or would like further information, please contact Erin Hanna at 242-3364 or email erinmike@pris.ca .
