DAWSON CREEK- ? A highlight in the celebration of Dawson Creek?s 50th anniversary in 2008 will be the publication of the book Dawson Creek: an Illustrated History and the production of a companion DVD, Dawson Creek: a History in Pictures and Sound. The book and DVD celebrate the vibrant past, present and future of Dawson Creek and are scheduled for release in May of 2008.

Dawson Creek: an Illustrated History is being produced by Don Pettit, of Peace photoGraphics Inc. for author and historian Gerry Clare, to commemorate Dawson Creek?s 50th Anniversary as an incorporated city.

This hard-cover, full color 96 page photo book will outline the history, events and special people who made Dawson Creek the successful, innovative community it is today.

Dawson Creek: a History in Pictures and Sound by award winning video producer Hank Bridgeman of Peace Videoworks, Dawson Creek, will be a companion to the commemorative book.

Produced and mastered in High Definition, this 30-minute video will take the viewer on a journey through Dawson Creek?s history from the early pioneers to the present day. Interviews with long-time residents of the City will recall experiences and events that shaped Dawson Creek over the last 50 years.

Original music by producer Bert Goulet, Solar Peace Recording, will be featured in the video, with performances by a host of Dawson Creek and area musicians and singers. The all-original sound track for the video will feature a Dawson Creek commemorative City theme song written by Wayne Ezeard of Dawson Creek.
