If you haven?t see the new climbing structure, then get down to the community centre and try your hand at it! The new structure was installed the first week of September. The structure, also know as ?Macro Spacenet 3140?, does look like something from out of this world. The bright red colour and the unique design has been attracting several climbers since it has been installed. The new addition is part of the family park that is still in the planning stage.
The structure, purchased from a company in Burnaby, cost the town of Tumbler Ridge approximately $18000 before taxes. It is 5.63 metres high(about 17 feet) and it is designed to hold 12-15 climbers. It is recommended for children 5-12 years old but four people from The Public Works crew tested it?s strength the day it was installed. Clark Hazlehurst, Operations Manager of Tumbler Ridge, stated ?They just couldn?t resist being the first ones to try it out?.
