Before the game and the puck drop, Darby MacNeil and Brooklyn Collison members of the TR Raptors Bantam team took turns with the microphone to say these words to Sharon Caisley and their fans:

“Our teammate, Brandon Davis’ grandma Mrs. Caisley is fighting cancer. We would like to take a few minutes to recognize her as one of our biggest supporters and show her how much we care and support her like she has supported us.

“One of her favourite colours is Royal Blue, so our coaches, manager and gate person are all wearing royal blue hats with S C on them. That stands for Sharon Caisley.

“The team is wearing a Royal Blue skate lace to symbolize ONE STEP AT A TIME

“A Royal Blue armband to symbolize being by your side, and our hockey stick blades are taped with Royal Blue tape to symbolize with every shot we make, we are sending you the power to beat this cancer.

“We will wear our Royal Blue in our four games this season during the weekend to show our support to you, Mrs. Caisley to BEAT this.

“We would be honoured if a member of the Caisley family would come and drop the puck to start our game.

“YOU HAVE THE POWER TO BEAT THIS AND WE ARE SUPPORTING YOU.”
