TUMBLER RIDGE BEAVERS VISIT THE RCMP STATION

The Beavers finished their tour of the town?s establishment with a visit to the RCMP station on Wednesday, April 23rd. 15 Beavers, with leaders Angie Roberts, Holly Lang, Madonna Menchion and parent helper Sarah Falcon were given a tour of the station by Const. Harvey and Const. Wedholm.

The children visited the bay area where the police vehicles are kept, and were given a chance investigate the inside of a patrol truck, see the GPS working and have a demonstration of the lights and sirens.

The police message is that they are not just there for accidents and emergencies; they are approachable if the children find themselves in difficulty.

The 45?minute tour ended with a question and answer session. The children were given a temporary tattoo and some candy. The youngsters, in particular the boys, enjoyed the whole experience.

The Beavers would like to say thank you to the Police staff who allowed their schedules to be interrupted by the visit. This marks the end of the Beavers expedition of the town?s establishments for this year. Still to come are Pitch In Week, the Barkerville road trip and Rockets at Flatbed Creek.
