Sprucing up the Playground

Energy in Action along with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Products provided a great opportunity for our school by funding a unique tree planting and educational experience for our grade 5 and 6 students.

A huge thank you to Carol and Gary Likes from Sanctuary Valley for ordering our trees and helping us plant them. Also we need to thank Al Dilk from Dig-It Bobcat Service for his expertise with digging the holes. Without these folks in our community, this project could not have been done. Their donation of time allowed for us to be able to spend more money on the actual trees.

The students at the school have been busy making sure the trees are well watered and the town crew will take over this endeavor once July hits.

Peace River Coal ? Trend Operation has donated a picnic bench to enhance our playground. Two benches have also been purchased from donations from our own Parent group (PAC) along with the Legion and the Lions of Tumbler Ridge. The students are sure to enjoy these additions to our playground.
