Tumbler Ridge Elementary Students hold Bonspiel

There was excitement spilling out of the Tumbler Ridge Curling rink on February 6th. Grades four, five, six and seven from Tumbler Ridge Elementary School were having a bonspiel.

Approximately 100 students took part and that was evident just by looking at the amount of winter footwear.

Teams took turns on the ice curling while the others waited patiently by playing games like miniature pool, checkers etc on the floor of the curling lobby. This event was taking place for better part of the school day so that meant lunch. Over 20 pizzas were purchased from Sheila?s and delivered at intervals to accommodate teams playing times. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and no one went hungry.

Big bouquets to teachers, teacher?s aids, parents and volunteers that helped make this possible.

Awards for this funspiel will be given out at a later date during a school assembly.
