Tumbler Ridge Hospital Foundation serving the community

The Tumbler Ridge Hospital Foundation was created in July 1989. We are a non-profit society who?s mandate is to donate funds for the purchase of medical equipment for the Tumbler Ridge Health Centre.

In our clinic we have artwork, hand carved star marble, grizzly bears in gift boxes, Native and Inuit designed pewter giftware and also children?s pewter giftware. We depend on our local citizens to donate knitting and craft items to sell in our showcases. Also all of these proceeds go to our local foundation.

So far this year we have donations from Hill Computing, Liz Pearce, Margaret Ash, Nemi, Eileen Chamberlain, Allan and Rita Sims, Flo Stirling, RCMP Musical Ride and Duke Energy, we apologize if we have missed anyone else?s name. We have also had promise of addition donations from other organizations/companies, which we gladly await.

This year we purchased a Doppler Fetal Monitor and a Holter Monitor, our next purchase will be a transport monitor approximately $15 000. This item will be bought in the next couple of months. A transport monitor displays ECG, Oxygen level and blood pressure monitoring all on one screen, which make it compact and perfect for the purposes intended. Our next wish item is a 12 lead ECG machine.

Our 2007 Executive President Bev Fournier, Vice President Janet Hartford, Secretary/Treasurer Gail Neumann.

We welcome new members to join the Foundation. Meetings are once a month (the 3rd Tuesday of the month) starting on Jan.16, 2007, from 12 noon to 1 pm.

Anyone willing to donate knitted or crocheted items (especially baby goods) is greatly appreciated.

If you would like to make a donation to the T.R. Hospital Foundation, you can do so at our local clinic or mail a cheque to PO Box 80, Tumbler Ridge, BC V0C 2W0
