Helen Elaine Marcheterre, better known as Elaine, passed away at her home in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, on Tuesday, February 5, 2008.
Elaine was born on April 8, 1947, in Campbellton, Restigouche County, New Brunswick, to Lydia and Edward Black. Elaine was the only daughter in the family of nine children.
Elaine moved to Montreal, Quebec, where she met the love of her life, Denis Marcheterre and they were married on April 19, 1969. While in Montreal Elaine completed her business program and worked until 1972. Elaine and Denis then moved to Manitoba.
Elaine loved God, family and friends whole heartedly. Elaine was very joyful, full of life and welcomed family and friends into their home at all times. Elaine enjoyed music, singing in the choir, being a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church Missions committee, collecting angels and shopping.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents Lydia and Edward Black and brothers Robert, Randy and Allan.
Elaine is survived by her husband Denis and their two children, daughter Tanya (Joe), grandchildren Lydia, Brandon, Brianna and son Danny (Candice), grandchildren Zachary and Devin, brothers James Merle (Bud), William (Bill) and wife Muriel, Gary and wife Sandy, Everett and wife Blondine, Edward and wife Judy, and first cousin Ralph Gallant and wife Celia, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the New Life Assembly Church, Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia.
