A group of Tumbler Ridge residents came home with some precious metals late last month.
The Tumbler Ridge residents were part of a group who participated in the recent 55+ BC Games held in Coquitlam September 20 – 24.
13 golfers representing the Peace River-Liard (Zone 12) attended and six of the golfers from town brought home medals in their respective age groups and divisions.
The big winner was Dale Fryklund, who was brought home gold in the Low Net – Division B, 60-64 category.
The golfers played two rounds during the tournament and Fryklund says he was on course for the silver after day one, but when the dust cleared, he took home the gold while John Kennedy brought home the Low Gross – Division B silver medal in the same category.
In the next age group up, Glenn Miller was the Low Net – Division B – 65-69 Silver Medalist, while Terry Vandenbosch was the Low Gross – Division A – 65-69 – Silver Medalist.
In the women’s category, Deb Bain brought home silver in the Low Gross – Division B – 60-64 category, while Jean Slaney took home silver in the Low Net – Division B – 65-69 category.
A good time was had by all, says Bain.
