Tumbler Ridge Secondary School newsletter

Greetings and Salutations. Term 3 has begun and we are steamrolling ahead. We would like to welcome our new teacher, Ms. Whyte. Ms. Whyte will be teaching Grade 7 Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Grade 10 Science. Students in grades 10 ? 12 have finished their provincial exams and are anxiously waiting for their results. These will be available March 6 by going to www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams. Students will need to know their PEN and may see Mr. Smith for this if they dont have theirs.

Report Cards

The second term has ended and report cards will be released on Feb. 15. Final marks will not be available at this time for any students that have written provincial exams.

Attendance Policy

TRSS has adopted a new attendance policy to coincide with the new semester. For details please visit the school?s website http://trss.sd59.bc.ca.

Satisfaction Surveys

Parents of students in grades 7, 10, and 12 are asked to complete a parent satisfaction survey. The website is http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey/access.htm. Parents can obtain logon numbers from the school. We encourage all parents of students in these grades to respond, as your opinions provide us with valuable information that can be used for school planning.

Guest Speaker

On Thursday, Feb. 14, we have the pleasure of having Andy Thibodeau talk to the student body. His presentation is both fun and educational. The presentation begins at 8:45am and we invite parents to attend.

TRSS requires more teacher and support staff substitutes. If you are interested, please contact the school.
