The newest exhibit of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation will open on Saturday 27 January. Mayor Mike Caisley will officially open the Tumbler Ridge Sports Hall of Fame at 1 pm in the downstairs level of the Tumbler Ridge Community Centre.

The first call for nominations was sent out in late 2006, and a letter was sent to all sports and service organizations in Tumbler Ridge, along with a list of criteria. Three outstanding nominations were received, and the reviewing committee was pleased to accept all three. This committee comprises the Mayor of Tumbler Ridge, the Director of the Tumbler Ridge Community Centre, and the President of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation.

Each successful nominee will have a photo alongside a text panel explaining the achievements and background history of the sportsperson. Nominations will be reviewed four times a year, and additions will be made to the Sports Hall of Fame accordingly. Residents are invited to attend this formal opening, which is part of the ?Meet the Museum Day? in the Public Library on January 27th.
