Lonny Miller has taken over the reins at town hall, having arrived here with wife Sandy from Burns Lake, where he has spent the past 19 years. He is not new to the area, born in Dawson Creek, and raised in Taylor gives Miller an appreciation and understanding of the area and the challenges peculiar to the north.
He and wife Sandy have five adult children. Miller is enthusiastic about Tumbler Ridge, and the opportunity to be actively involved in shaping Tumbler Ridge?s future. He has a background as an able administrator in Burns Lake, with ten years as CAO there, and nine years as Director of Finance.
With the 14 years served with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, he is well qualified for this position. Miller feels that the team he is working with at Town Hall is dedicated, experienced and professional, and says that this is a great staff to work with.
He recognizes the challenges facing us as we balance the need for industry and commercial development, while maintaining a strong quality of life for residents, but says Town Hall is up to the task.
Miller has an ?Open Door? policy and invites residents to call or drop in at town hall with any questions or concerns that they may have. To illustrate his point he says that in Burns Lake he took his office door off the hinges. With a strong CAO, Mayor and Council, and dedicated staff, Tumbler Ridge has much to look forward to.
