RAY PROULX ? LEAD GUITAR, VOCALS
On lead guitar and vocals Ray is the hard rock and metal spice that give this musical jambalaya its bite. Hailing from Faro, Yukon Ray?s influences kick Heavy Things two steps up from dreamy folk jams into a crunchy stratosphere of sonic bliss (wow!). Ray?s previous bands include punk-prog outfit twominutehate, who opened for the Gandharvas, Bif Naked and the Barstool Prophets before disbanding in 1997. Having worked with Trent on several music projects, Ray?s new found love of rum and golf helped him stumble (literally) upon the last pieces of the collective puzzle that became known as Heavy Things. He hasn?t slept since.
Marko Milankov ? VOCALS
Songwriting with his distortion pedal off, Marko is the acoustic ying to Ray?s fuzzy yang (excuse me?!). Sharing vocals & bass, songwriting and playing acoustic and electric guitars, Marko is also the iron-man of the band. Born and raised in Etobicoke, Ontario, once an almighty borough of Toronto, Marko is the lone city-man ? fortunately it doesn?t show.
Blaine Broderick ? ACOUSTIC GUITAR, BASS, VOCALS
On vocals, bass, acoustic, and harmonica, Blaine is the pillar, the statue, the backbone, the anchor, the tower of strength and the cornerstone of Heavy Things. All the way from Mt.Pearl, Newfoundland he completes the band with his sweet vocals, steady rhythm and rock solid bass. Adoring fans have been known to rush on-stage simply to lick his well-shaven head.
Trent Ernst ? DRUMS
Trent is our resident tub thumper and bottle washer. Originally from Saskatchewan, Trent moved to the big city of Va ncouver, where he learned his chops and did his time in a variety of stage and garage bands. He moved to Tumbler Ridge to be close to Ray, and the two have been playing together ever since. He is addicted to Goodhost Iced Tea, and believes that poets have too long been silent on the topic of cheese.
