Western Canadian Coal brings prosperity to the region

The long awaited official opening of Western?s Wolverine project will kick off on October 6th at the mine site, with guests attending a luncheon and tour of the facility.

The community is invited for a tour on Saturday, October 7th, with buses supplied by Western leaving the ShopEasy parking lot at regular intervals. (Look for details in this issue).

Western Coal employs about 300 people at the Wolverine, people from Tumbler Ridge and around the region.

What that means in practical terms for the residents in our communities is stable jobs, and increased prosperity.

The company states in its 2006 Annual Report that ?more than 300 people are currently active on site at the Wovlerine Mine,? and says ?our people are the best.

We recognize and thank them then for their tremendous efforts, as well as our contractors and suppliers?.

Western?s recognition of the community and its willingness to open the mine site to the residents for a tour will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.
