Western Canadian Coal Supports Educational Camps

Through a generous donation Western Canadian Coal has supported and enabled the continuation of Dinosaur Camp and Northern Wilderness Camp, the popular summer educational programs of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation. The company is providing funds for the lease of a fifteen passenger van for the summer, which is essential in transporting campers and instructors to the various locations on field trips. Camps accommodate a maximum of thirteen campers.

John Hogg, President and CEO of Western Canadian Coal, commented: ?Western is proud to provide support to these two very important programs throughout the summer months. These programs form an integral part of the TRMF?s overall objective of establishing a museum and research centre in Tumbler Ridge and we will continue to support that goal.?

Dr Charles Helm, President of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation, added: ?The ongoing support of industry is most welcome in helping provide these important educational and recreational opportunities for kids in the region and beyond. Our dinosaurs are closely connected with coal and the local coal mines, and it is wonderful to have Western Canadian Coal come on board as a corporate sponsor.?

Dinosaur Camp and Northern Wilderness Camp alternate during the months of July and August, with a choice of week-long camps or two-day family mini-camps. Details are available at www.tumblerridgemuseum.com or by calling 250 242 3466 (242 DINO).
