The Wolves Cross Country Running Series celebrated its tenth successful year with the final in Grande Prairie on October 23. The race was held in challenging conditions in ankle-deep snow and below zero temperatures.
To qualify for the series, runners had to take part in at least three of the eight races, which were held in the Peace Region this fall.
Daniel and Carina Helm both brought back first place trophies, and Esther and Sheena Walkley and Laura and Natalie Sharman performed consistently, with Sheena earning a well-deserved second place medal.
A number of other TR runners competed in two events: Charles and Linda Helm, Tanner and Tyler Johnson, Amanda and Shane Kruse, and Christopher and Nicholas Mackay. Many other local runners turned out for the Ridge Ramble, which was one of the series runs held in Tumbler Ridge for the third time.
Congratulations to all these athletes from WNMS!
